The new AMI 120 system from Pfeiffer Vacuum is a unique method of non-destructive testing of the integrity of pharmaceutical blisters online. This innovative solution provides highly sensitive real-time leak monitoring without the need for any special tracer gas.
Factors such as humidity, oxygen, or microorganisms can greatly affect the quality of medicines. Even the smallest leaks in the package, corresponding to a hole with a diameter of less than 1 µm, can affect the stability of the drug. Valued by leading pharmaceutical companies, the AMI 120 can measure leak rates down to 1/10 microns in less than 45 seconds.
The test system is equipped with automatic sequential calibration based on traceable calibrated leaks. This ensures reliable operation of the AMI 120. The method is patented for detecting leaks in blister packs during drug manufacturing. The AMI 120 is easy to set up and is more sensitive and faster than conventional test methods. AMI 120 complies with Part 11 CFR21 and is very economical as no specific tracer gas is required to operate. The integrity test can be performed with all types of blister packs.
